House Special Complete Bikes

Road, Road Fondo, Gravel and Cyclocross

House Special complete bikes are offered as a stock geometry frame with a pre-selected group of components. If you think a standard geometry design works fine for you without the need for a custom fitting, then this is a good option. You still get the same handcrafted construction as a complete custom frame…and you get to semi-customize your component selection and choose your own frame color!

House Special complete bikes start at $3500…contact me for details.

Top Components

Drivetrain, Cockpit and Wheels

All components are spec’d to the appropriate size for your frame. Want something special? Let me know and I can probably get it for your build!

OUR PROCESS

Give Us A Call

The whole process begins with a conversation, either in-person or over the phone. We’ll talk about your goals, needs, desires for your new bike. After our discussion, I’ll provide you with a quote and if you decide to move forward I’ll ask for a deposit to reserve your space on my schedule.

Fit & Design

Once you’re committed, I’ll get your fit measurements and create a BikeCAD drawing of your frame design. The BikeCAD design will provide the frame design as well as your positional settings for the saddle and handlebars. I’ll source the appropriate tubing for your design and after receiving everything…the magic begins!

Paint, Parts & Delivery

When your frame is complete it will be sent to the painter, painted according to your color choice and returned to me. While it’s at the painter I’ll order your parts and prepare them for installation on your new frame. Once the bike build is complete, we’ll make arrangements for your bike delivery…yay!

WHY CUSTOM?

Many riders get to a point in time when they start thinking about getting a custom bike. There are many reasons why someone would end up at this point. Perhaps you’ve never been comfortable on a stock bike. Maybe you have fit issues that can best be addressed with a custom bike fit. Or just maybe…you want something different than the run-of-the-mill production bike that everyone else seems to ride.

There are many details to address during the custom building process. What type of bike do you want and how will it best meet your needs? How will the bike be designed to give you the optimum fit for comfort and handling? What parts do you want on your bike? Mechanical or electrical drivetrain? Rim or disc brakes? Pavement or gravel bike? Super lightweight bike or one designed for durability?

The hardest decision you will make will be…the color! Believe me, this seems minor, but you will take the longest time deciding the color of your new ride! You can go with something simple and traditional or really go wild with a unique one-of-a-kind paint job. It’s your bike…get what you want!

As a builder, I will guide you through the process and answer the questions you may have. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the building process and how it will address your needs.

The custom bike process should be fun and I’m here to guide you!

SHOP INDIGO

My name is Scott Schofield, I’m the owner and frame builder at Indigo Custom Bicycles in Crested Butte, Colorado.

Like most kids, I fell in love with the freedom of riding my bike everywhere. Meeting up with my buddies and riding out into the big world to discover what the day had to offer. Long before the Internet and video games, we created our own adventures.

I would eventually get into the road and mountain bike racing and work at the local bike shop. I have over 20 years of sales, management and bicycle fitting experience and I bring those years of first-hand experience to the table when I design and build your frame. Living in the mountains of Colorado, I now get to ride all kinds of bikes in all kinds of weather. I don’t design bikes I wouldn’t ride myself!

During the custom build process, you’ll deal directly with me. I only build one bike at a time…yours! My goal is to build a bike that meets your needs, fits properly, rides great and looks awesome! I encourage you to contact me so we can have a conversation to start you on the road to your new bike!
