You can’t beat the ride quality of a beautiful and compliant custom lightweight steel frame. All Indigo Custom designed frames include a personal consultation, one-on-one bike fit session and a final BikeCAD drawing designed to your specs. Every frame is built one at a time, from start to finish. Choose from a selection of top components to create your dream bike!
Designed with traditional road bike geometry and built with oversize or double oversize tubing for a lively and comfortable ride. Do you prefer a fast and responsive race set up? The Dario will give you that snappy race feel whether you’re toeing the start line on the weekend or just want to hold your own at your weekly group ride. Spec your ride with a mechanical or electronic drivetrain, disc or rim brakes, alloy or carbon cockpit components and a selection from a myriad of wheel choices. The Dario is named after the late, great Italian frame builder Dario Pegoretti.
The Blue Ridge
Drawing from a road bike heritage, the Blue Ridge is a little more relaxed for all-day comfort. The Blue Ridge has a slightly taller head tube for a little more upright position however, you won’t miss a beat alongside other road bikes. We’ll work together to determine the best design and components for your needs. Spec your ride with a mechanical or electronic drivetrain, disc or rim brakes, alloy or carbon cockpit components and a selection from a myriad of wheel choices. The Blue Ridge is named after the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Skyline Drive in Virginia. I pedaled these hilly roadways whenever I wanted to get in a long, uphill day in the saddle! The downhill ride back to my start was always a fun and winding descent!
Want to go off the beaten path? The Ranger gravel bike will give you the ability to venture onto back roads, free from traffic. A little more relaxed than a road bike with wide tires for durability and all-day riding comfort. Run your gravel rig with a 2x or 1x drivetrain, disc brakes, and 700c or 650b wheel and tire combos. Feeling more adventurous? The Ranger can also be designed for bikepacking with rack eyelets and extra bottle mounts. The back roads are calling…where do you want to go? The Ranger is named after my late father who was a twenty-year Army Ranger veteran.
Beer & Waffles
Looking to mix it up on the ‘cross course or switch up your off-season training? Beer and Waffles are built with oversized tubing for a bike light enough to portage over barriers yet durable enough to bang elbows in the corners. Build your ride with a 1x drivetrain, disc or traditional cantilever brakes and lightweight carbon wheels. You’ll be ready when the pistol fires and you take the holeshot! The Beer & Waffles is named after the popular cuisine served and consumed at many cyclocross races!

My name is Scott Schofield, I’m the owner and frame builder at Indigo Custom Bicycles in Crested Butte, Colorado.
Like most kids, I fell in love with the freedom of riding my bike everywhere. Meeting up with my buddies and riding out into the big world to discover what the day had to offer. Long before the Internet and video games, we created our own adventures.
I would eventually get into the road and mountain bike racing and work at the local bike shop. I have over 20 years of sales, management and bicycle fitting experience and I bring those years of first-hand experience to the table when I design and build your frame. Living in the mountains of Colorado, I now get to ride all kinds of bikes in all kinds of weather. I don’t design bikes I wouldn’t ride myself!
During the custom build process, you’ll deal directly with me. I only build one bike at a time…yours! My goal is to build a bike that meets your needs, fits properly, rides great and looks awesome! I encourage you to contact me so we can have a conversation to start you on the road to your new bike!
